Maybe the contradiction doesn’t really exist and is a matter of classification of the flights declared as “commercial”. Maybe the 80% loss of “commercial” flight time was compensated by other flying, like for the government etc.
Anyway, I don’t want to dwell on it. ATSG seems in such a good shape that even if there is a reduction in revenue at Omni, this can easily be “subsidized” by income from its cargo operation (ABX, ATI).

One thought that went through my mind: If Omni and ABX operate the same aircrafts (B767), why is ABX not training pilots from the “Omni pool”, but does their separate hiring?
