Flow is great until it’s not. I think it’s important to note a lot of folks got out before the flow to other carriers. Be like those folks, volunteer, continue education, get in the training department, and push to get a new job before the flow, because that flow date can disappear overnight.

I will add I could see pilots being in the position of only knowing AA pilots if they upgraded quickly and didn’t fly with many captains. You still have the opportunity to network outside of AA, it just takes effort.
I'm not saying no ones goes elsewhere. I'm saying fewer. Far fewer. And that means less internal recs elsewhere. I was taking issue with the notion your chances are the same as someone from a non-WO, not that you can't. I see replies saying "you can still do it"... well yeah, but that doesn't dispute what I'm saying either.
