I don't think you caught what I meant, I'm talking post COVID no more pandemic back to 'normal' times. Sometimes you have a sniffle but need to get groceries or take the kids to school whatever that's just life. Previous to living in times of a pandemic I think the vast majority of Americans (including myself) wouldn't have considered wearing a mask.
In the future I think this might change to some degree and more folks will be cognizant of wearing masks if they don't feel great but have to be out, washing their hands more often and try not to be so dirty. Because the reality is many folks in this country go to work sick or lack proper sick time to take care of themselves and can't afford to call in sick. In our own industry how many times have we heard, "it's just allergies, I think I'm fine" when clearly that crew member should've stayed home? All that combined maybe the typical cold/flu season could be a little better for all?
Had a captain one night come out of the lav who clearly didn't wash his hands, who had been blowing his nose constantly, then offered me the tomatoes from his salad - in his dirty *** hands no less - and I'm like...ahhh no I'm good thanks. Gross man.
