For the last few months, I've been wondering why half the 7/9 flying in ORD is Delta. I know there's all that optimization and I saw the RSR that expounded a bit. Still never understood it. But on a recent trip, the FAs were talking about how like 200 flight attendants were getting displaced from DTW and my immediate thought was "I wonder if DTW will go all-CRJ200..." Still not sure about MSP. I still find IAH an interesting staging point for DL 900s, since they only have two logical connecting points and then end up doing what DTW could be doing (during my time there, it was at least a little frustrating to see 'good' trips in the IAH pairings), but I guess ORD is in the same boat. MSP could take some 900s and cover flying I guess, until more ERJs show up. And IAH still seems like a logical 175 base. Maybe we leave DTW kind of in reverse order how it opened. Whittle down to 200s, fewer routes, flowing from other domiciles, then leave? I hope it doesn't close, just like I don't hope anyone loses flying or bases. I've even started wondering if it'll end up like MSP. Introduce some ERJs and then eventually be like SLC. ERJs and some 200s floating around (yes, I'm fully aware some 7/9 is still in SLC, but hopefully you get the idea).
