So good to see you here BobbyLee, I sure do miss flying with ya! We really did have the best pilot group over at Compass and I'm hoping to reunite with some of them if I'm lucky enough to get an interview. My minimum guarantee on unemployment is 1800 a month so ya, I would be absolutely thrilled to land a job here and stop hemorrhaging cash from my savings. The options for someone in my position are as follows:
Regional
Most aren't hiring and the thought of starting over at another regional with worse pay, QOL, and long upgrade times? No thank you. On top of that, sitting reserve at a regional that I'll have to commute to sounds like a fresh new hell that I'm not prepared for.
Cargo
I'm pretty sure I applied to every single operator out there and have gotten nothing but crickets and tumbleweeds as a response. Hiring windows pop up and they get over 1000 applications in the first day so the odds are stacked against me. Oh, and with a schedule that typically has you working 17 days in a row my wife might forget who I am.
Charter
Jump into a smaller jet and deal with rich people. I'm treading water in a few pilot pools for this kind of work but they're not my first choice. Again, long upgrade times and the 8 on 6 off schedule isn't my favorite. This would be a place holder rather than something that truly advances my career.
Breeze
Sitting in a familiar cockpit with some old friends is enough for me to want this job and want it bad. Potential for quick upgrade, sitting on top of the seniority list, bringing the double wave back, and forming a snack basket committee. I meet their min requirements and they're hiring so give me one good reason why I shouldn't be eagerly anticipating a call from them like a kid on xmas morning.
