I remember during our "day in the life" after training at JetBlue, they made it sound like you had to have your mil request in more than a month in advance. I do that for my scheduled drill weekends, but if a trip pops up with my squadron or I need to do any other mil stuff, I just send Chief Pilot Admin an email and they clear my schedule - no questions asked.

The company doesn't advertise how easy it is to drop trips for mil because they want to get their money out of you. The fact is that the law is on your side. Just don't try to pull a fast one with dropping trips for "military duties" that turn into a vacaction in Aruba for you and your family and you'll be okay.
