I wouldn't let future aspirations of a commercial career drive my choice on what platform to fly for the next 10+ (or whatever commitment Canada has) years. Fly something you have always dreamed of, thought was cool etc.. and let the cards fall where they may when/if it's time to trade in the military wings. Just remember that military flying is truly a different gig than the commercial side of the the house. I'm sure there are more than enough posts out there to highlight these differences.
To answer your question, both fighter/heavy pilots have good chances to get hired by a commercial carrier.
