This statement is not scientifically proven or even agreed upon in the scientific/medical community. Too many conflicting studies and many are dubious in nature that point to Vitamin D deficiency as the primary cause of increased COVID mortality. Take vitamin D if you desire. But don’t spread unproven opinions as facts. Enough of that is out there already.

In regards to your paraphrase: “At this point, at least half, but probably more like 80% of the deaths from Covid, are from vitamin D deficiency”... the Healthline article this was listed in had this one small but very important statement:

“It looks like patients with a poor vitamin D status may have more severe COVID-19,” he told Healthline. But the new study didn’t find that relationship.”

By the way, if you did obtain you info from healthline, the medical profession considers this site as a notorious provider of poor and unproven health related information.
