Here is the FAQ directly from that town hall and it is all in black and white:

Q. Why is SkyWest, a United Express carrier, not a UAX entry point via Aviate? Are they being considered to become part of Aviate? If not, why not?

A. SkyWest's business model doesn't fly United metal exclusively with dedicated pilots - all pilots fly across all their contract mainline partners. This makes it awkward to have a program with them because doing so would actually be an advantage to our competitors. Our program is designed to attract pilots to fly in our ecosystem and if we were to deploy at SkyWest (or Republic), we’d actually be attracting pilots into Delta and American’s ecosystems as well.-updated 1/07/21
