Based on what your side's argument is, that Covid deaths include those who died with Covid and not just because of Covid, and we have totally overestimated Covid deaths... then we should have the same ~2.8 million people dying for 2020, whether it was their underlying condition or from Covid. Right?
Except CDC estimate of deaths for 2020 is
3,260,397. So it would seem on top of the normal deaths we would have had "anyway" if there was no pandemic, maybe, just maybe, we actually did lose 347,000 people to Covid19 for 2020. Yes, Covid is killing mostly the above age 60 crowd. But statistically speaking we should have lost about 2.8 to 2.9 million people this year, which includes all the "old people" deaths. So us losing 3.26 million clearly shows that on top of our regular deaths expected this year, some other drastic event kicked in to drive overall deaths even higher.
2020 is the deadliest year in U.S. history: America is on pace for more than 3.2 million total deaths including 347K killed by COVID, 75K pandemic-related fatalities and a record 81K fatal overdoses
- Preliminary CDC figures suggest 2020 will be the deadliest year in U.S. history with a record 3,260,397
- The 2020 death toll is approximately 15% higher than the 2,835,533 Americans who died in 2019
- Other deadly years include 1,430,079 deaths in 1918, the year of the Spanish Flu pandemic; 1,459,544 deaths in 1943, amid World War II; and 1 ,930,082 deaths in 1968 at the height of the Vietnam War
- It includes more than 347,000 people in the U.S. who died of COVID-19
- One study found an additional 75,000 people died indirectly due to the pandemic such as delaying seeking life-saving medical care
- CDC data also shows a record 81,000 died of drug overdoses, mainly due to opioids such as fentanyl

daily mail. almost as good as wikipedia for a source.....
no, its not 3 mil deaths. The real death number in end of November was ~2.5 million. So for the "revised" number to come in at 3 mil + that would require about 900K death added in about 35 days. Did not happen.
That is almost as believable a number as 400k china flu deaths. Gullible does not begin to describe you.
