I've heard the same thing about FedEx having problems with the Chinese (big surprise)
There is the tax thing of course. HKG taxes are about 17 %. CAN taxes are about 51 %. FedEx has to pay the taxes for crew members who chose to live in CAN, it's covered by the LOA. We've been told point blank after the LOA was voted in that if you want to live in CAN, your visa (and family's if applicable) and taxes will be covered by FedEx, they have no choice. Now, we get a couple of emails saying "Well, we're not really sure if you can live in CAN, we'll let you know later." If this turns out to be true, the whole LOA is null and void, and there's going to be big problems.
As far as the other runway, how many do they want? There's already two operating runways in CAN. Does FedEx want to make it 3??
