The "science-based" argument is that scientists do not know whether a vaccinated person can still be a carrier. The polio shot was effective at preventing the disease, but the virus continued to replicate in the bowels and vaccinated people could still spread the virus. Scientists figured out how to make an oral vaccine that wiped it out of the digestive tract.
That's according to a CDC Doc. I do not know. I'm just a pilot and I trust the Docs to advise us.
If the Chinese are doing anal swabs, that suggests this virus camps out other places than just the nasal cavity.
