An AUS base would certainly be drivable for just about everyone in DFW/IAH/SAT (not that that factors into company decision making), just like an MCO base would cover most of the S. Florida/JAX/TPA commuters.
MCO & AUS would make 1000+ pilots very happy, although many will still prefer to commute to ATL/NYC/DTW for the heavy metal.
BOS seems harder to know. A slow pandemic recovery + jetBlue European competition w the A321XLR certainly complicates things.
