Because the seniority that matters is when you get a real seniority number (married,) not a promise ring (non-married.)

Seniority matters when its time to upgrade and furlough. Honestly, it doesn't matter if you're CFIing, military, 135 or furloughed if you're not on the list.

Honestly, I would imagine that regional airlines are salivating at the prospect of high time in type previously qualified pilots vs. CFIs. Depending on the 135 operator, there will things he/she are doing will make a transition to an RJ easier than a CFI.
