Then, of course the decision to upgrade may result in some additional time spent on reserve, This airline is and will be growing very quickly for several years to come. I have been with Frontier for over 12 years and have done my time as on reserve, but allowing reserves to add from DOT dilutes seniority rights as a line holder. At a minimum, just as with our 24 hour protection from picking up out of domicile, there really needs to be some type of process in place to protect our seniority as a line holder during the initial open time period. I have attempted to add an extra trip during the initial DOT, only to be beat to the punch (only by seconds) by many and mostly reserve guys adding flying on there days off. I have heard this same story from most First Officers I fly with as well.
A 10 min fence for res pickups would have been nice. Meanwhile some jb pilots mentioned they wanted to allow reserves to pickup on days off as part of thier last Loa. Your never making everyone happy on this one.
