Gents,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. The situation continues to deteriorate, our CEO has offered verbal guarantees but will not shift on the central issue - a common seniority list. Verbal guarantees, though we have some respect for Willie are worth very little. We want to see appropriate amendments to our Agreement Schedule that deals with this corner of the business.
They will not play ball nor even look at the alternative which is to have us fly the OS aircraft.
You don't need to be a clairvoyant to see what's coming. You guys have been through this before.
Like you we have labor requirements when contemplating industrial action. We have taken the necessary steps to satisfy legal niceties, it looks as though we will be going for it. Willie has history for negotiating hard at the ninth hour but he has frozen his position - it does look likely that he too will go for arbitration. I personally don't trust the arbitrators as they are unlikely to understand the deeper issues or the threats. Who expects others to take on board what seniority means and the effect of the parasite on the pilot force in these circumstances. They will just look at the business case and rule on that. It certainly seems to be what happened with AA and AE. A carbon copy case.
We await the outcome with interest and are checking our piggy banks.
