Existing infrastructure if utility companies incentivize off peak charging. Many utilities already give EV owners cheap power to charge in the middle of the night when demand is low. This reduces peak afternoon demand which is expensive to provide. Essentially everyone who already runs their 40-50 amp air conditioning in the afternoon can schedule their EV to charge at night on a 50 amp garage circuit.
