You may not be able to beat it but it is still woefully lacking. 1 supercharger in my major city, 7 chargers and inconvenient location. more and more destination chargers are popping up but those are full because they are associated with parking. Until I drive past 6 on my way to work with open stations available for a quick 10 minute charge, home charging will be the norm and trips will require careful planning and reservations.
That sucks when even the super chargers are inconvenient. To goo thing is that there are adapters for Chademo and J1772. If Tesla made a CCS adapter then pretty much every charge station would be an option.
