Contemplating a used one. Model years to avoid, ideal versions of it (70, 80, 85 or whatever it is they use), caveats, gotchas, etc.? Does the warranty transfer to a new owner as it would from one of the other auto manufacturers? I also thought I read somebody state that you might/could lose particular options?
Tesla keeps the options with the cars unless you are buying a used car directly from Tesla or a car Tesla took in trade and auctioned. They will in those cases remove or add software options as suits them but they tell you what your getting. Specifically we are talking about advanced autopilot, full self drive and performance increase. There was some news where they took the FSD away from owners who had purchased the car with the option working but the prior owner had never paid for it. They ran a audit and found a bunch of cars had it by mistake. They removed it regardless of who owned the car. It’s not likely to be a issue now.
