This is why I favor the HSA for more control. Lower premiums and triple tax advantage. That way I make money off my cash rather than the insurance company. Moreover, if I pay medical expenses out of pocket my actual cost reduces over time as HSA balance compounds

It’s not misleading at all to say that each kid cost $15. That’s exactly what each kid cost. My “family plan” BCBS coverage at my regional was $512 per month when I left the company. I paid those premiums for 9.5 years. We did not have an HSA option there.
I am paying significantly more per month at Delta for terrible coverage. I don’t know enough about HSA’s to comment. However, I am interested in tier 1-4 prescriptions being covered. Chemo could get expensive and if I get cancer I’d like to put up a fight against that. I am under the assumption that tier 4 prescriptions are not covered via HSA?
