On a somewhat different subject, reading about crime statistics, St. Louis in currently dealing with an astronomical crime rate including violent crimes, assaults etc. Does this concern anyone beyond the typical travel in groups, stay out of dark places and mind your own business, common sense? Clearly, the plan is to spend most of the time at the schoolhouse but one has to venture out at some point to get eat/shop. In my younger years I didn't give it much thought. A large majority of that is North St. Louis City. Around the airport isn’t the best but if you have transportation St. Charles, Brentwood/Clayton/Richmond heights is about as safe as anywhere in the country. If you go downtown just don’t be dumb, like any other downtown.
Mainly if you stay west of interstate 170 or south of Delmar (east of 170) and you probably won’t run into any issues.
