Sorry, but if you have no recent experience you are less valuable to the company than someone who does have recent experience. Hiring is all a numbers game before you get to the interview, so yeah, they're going to pick others before you. It'll be like that everywhere.
Appreciate the tip. I worked for eagle for 8 years. I’m familiar. I walked away as a protected pilot to raise my sons.
However, I can fly planes. Assuming I can’t is a bad decision and assuming that currency determines ability is another bad decision. I’m a great pilot and I get along with everyone. Poor recruiting strategy.
Offer a cjo in response. Suggest currency work. Giving suggestions to be attractive is great policy.
Cold shoulder strategy is a turn off and valuable talent is lost because of it.
