I think the bigger issue is that SLIs actually work for their money. That arrangement needs to be reconsidered if they need 100 more SLIs and cannot find them. Why work for 13 days off at 85 hours if you can work a greenslip for the same credit and get about 18 days off? This is a pay issue, not a commutability issue IMHO.
Full disclosure, I’m a SLI. The money is lucrative but you definitely have to work for it. There’s no soft money like on the line. Bunch of instructors have gotten burnt out and left after this last AE
