Most new hires at DL or UA for example get off reserve within a few months and move up relatively quickly on the NB aircraft. Even 777 these days at UA is less than 6 months reserve due to movement. Upgrade is a different story and you could be on reserve for up to a year on NB. Must different than 10 years ago.
