Everything you are asking is subject to change on a variety of factors. It depends on base growth, new based offered, etc.
Within 10 months I was able to hold a line in MCO. I was able to hold weekends off on a reserve schedule. Summertime vacations came year one, not on the holidays.
The trend with upgrade is new bases are junior upgrade bases. Our most junior captains are thus Miami and Tampa based. However, in the roughly 3-4 years it’ll take you to upgrade you may not have the seniority to hold those bases as the growth at those bases may stop. Most 5 year captains can hold MCO IIRC.
Your results may vary, but barring us opening an EWR or CVG base, you will have your best shot at getting quick QOL and upgrade in the southeast.
