He is conflating two things. An extra $20 for a pilot is not going to put them into bankruptcy. Its the simple fact they do not want to pay an extra $20 for a pilot. An extra Jackson an hour, I mean "Tubman", effects their bottom line, less profit for the shareholders and the the very important bonus payout for Teddy, Tommy and Bendo.
As to why we cant seem to get that "extra $20" an hour, thats up to the pilots. Apathy like last go around sure wont get it done.
What do you think the over/under will be on the contract survey thats currently open right now? My guess, 60% participate. But I guarantee 100% will complain about wanting more.
Considering Envoy, previous employer, had less than 10% participation I would be blown away with 60%. I get what your saying, 100% should be the standard.
