I know 2 ex ultra pilots at NJ that upgrade in 6 & 8 months... I say ex cause now they are flying other types which came with the upgrade and a pay raise. Not bad eh, NJ is the place to be.
I did that, but it was 7 years ago. Those days are long gone. Looking at 3 years at least for an upgrade to captain of anything that we fly.
The Ultra is a dying fleet.
Sort of. Yes, the Ultra is being phased out, but it's being replaced by the Encore+, which is the same exact airplane, just newer. So the small aircraft upgrade opportunities will still be here for a long time.
