When this all started in March 2020, it was all about not overwhelming the hospitals (which did not happen - we built millions of dollars worth of tent hospitals that were never used) and flattening the curve - two weeks to keep from getting the system overwhelmed. That really depends on how you couch your lie.
If you believe that hospitals turning the gift shop into hospital beds, running out of ICU space, and bringing in multiple freezer trucks to contain the dead did not represent overwhelming a hospital, then perhaps your concept of what overwhelms, is unrealistic.
