We didn’t need a Union to “fight for us” for higher pay. The lack of applicants led to management raising the pay rate after we had already signed a new contract.
Never worked for a regional, but don’t underestimate the impact that collective bargaining has had on improvements at the regional level. Yes market forces played a big role, but SkyWest had to up their game to compete for pilots because union shops paved the way by demanding those wages and work rules. SkyWest is a big and well run company. I’d love to see you guys organize and flex the muscle that a pilot group your size has and gain significant improvements for your group, and for others to build on.
