- yes, charter pays more I think and would allow me to save more money/ but am intrigued by the type of flying they do. But always wanted to go airlines until I met a bunch of charter guys in the last year. Just not sure how far it would set me back airline wise if I don’t like it. Just didn’t think I would get this opportunity with this company so never had to really think about it until now.

My takes having done both:
-135/91 flying is more fun. Different locations and better hotels. Money is better up front but it doesn’t touch 121 flying in the long-run. The benefits aren’t usually as good as 121 which may not mean much to you now but they will as you grow older. Overall job security is much better in 121. If you go 135 now you can always go 121 later but be prepared to go to a regional perhaps and end up exactly where you basically would have been now.
-I flew 91 when all my friends went 121. I had a lot of fun and made more money but ended up at a regional all the same. Now all my friends who sucked it up and went to a regional are mostly all at their career destinations. They’re at JetBlue, FedEx, LCC Captains etc and I’m a senior regional Captain.
