I think what was implied was what Part 61 checkrides would be accepted by the FAA in lieu of actually doing one with them to get hired. The 61.58 is a PIC check that they might possibly accept, the other one being someone who just passed an ATP or type ride as proof. I don't have first-hand knowledge of this but just based on last year when FAA was accepting 121 and 135 checkrides due to COVID-19 protocols.
