FDX had 412 “trunk” (jet) aircraft on 31 Aug 21 per the Q1’FY22 Stat Book, two of which are 744s not operated by FDX ALPA pilots.
As of early Sept 2021, UPS had 281 “Browntails”.
No denying FDX has more airplanes and more pilots than UPS…but that in and of itself doesn’t determine adequate or inadequate staffing.
I’d also submit staffing issues in a multinational logistics company go WAY beyond pilots…which was the context of both the earnings call and subsequent posts.
