Just about ANYWHERE you go there are going to be 'problems.' It's about finding a locality that has a minimum of those issues, a commute you can stand, and maximum family friendliness.

We live in Palmer Township, an Easton address but north of the 'city' (it isn't much of a city) and the next town over from Nazareth. When we were looking, we wanted to get into Nazareth but couldn't find a property that was as nice as the one we found in Palmer. Enough land for the kids and the dog, enough items in the house ticked off on the wife's givens & druthers list, etc.

Kids are in the Easton School District. Okay, but with Covid and the mask issues we decided to homeschool our last kid who is in school (15 yr old). The area is okay, I should have moved the family out further west towards Macungie where we could have had more acreage for the same money with the same size house. From where we are, I average 55 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes drive time doorstep to the employee lot. Easy drive on I-78 as far as I'm concerned. The commute to JFK (I'm on the 756 fleet) has sucked, and cross town pay is not enough for the hassle...but I don't have to do it too often.

I really believe every place is what you make it; we were able to find a nice place near to a lot of outdoor activities, shopping, and just about everything my family wants except a little more sunshine....you don't have to shovel sunshine!
