I would think there will be a decent amount of E190s coming available from Jetblue in the coming years, so it would make sense for Neelman to pick those up, especially considering they were his planes to begin with.
originally yes, the plan was A220 from the get go and the Ejets were an interim solution for launching earlier than Airbus could supply A220’s… however things changed pretty rapidly and the Ejet economics changed and has become an integral part of our system, so it’s a long term fleet.
