Pretty sure just about every captain at ZW could get hired by a major if they wanted. Most airlines have FOs with less than 500 hours in a jet getting offers at multiple major airlines within a few weeks of applying. The longer people wait, the more pilots they have in front of them on the list when they decide to make the jump.
I think there’s plenty of CAs and FOs that would leave if they could, but I don’t think the opportunities are as plentiful as you’re describing.
Air Wisconsin isn’t in a great place, but the one thing I can see is CRJ-700 availability for conversation to -550s. American loves the CRJ-700 because it can replace AA’s 50 seat feed and SkyWest is adding -700s to their American flying. So GoJet is competing with AA’s appetite for -700s, and there’s only a finite amount of -700s built and still in good condition.
If GJ can’t find any more airplanes, UA can’t replace Air Wisconsin’s -200s (among others).
