Actually, yes it is. Put in an application, keep it updated, network a little, and get an interview in a few days.

Last FO I flew with had interviews at 3 majors lined up (2 passenger, 1 cargo). About 500 hours 121, college degree, and only a couple check ride busts.

No, but you will get the call from somewhere like Spirit, Allegiant, Frontier, Atlas, and maybe even JetBlue.

Sorry but not what I've been seeing or hearing. Yes, they are taking FOs but the one's I've seen are eligible for upgrade and just haven't yet for whatever reason. Haven't heard of anyone (civilian) < 500 121 with 0 TPIC. Maybe one or two have gotten lucky because of internships or other relationships; ok, maybe. But to say that this is the norm in hiring right now; no, that is incorrect.

I have a handful of friends that have gone to Spirit since May of this year. The average in all of their classes was 3500-4000 TT and maybe one or two people that hadn't upgraded to 121 Captain but they did have 135 Captain time.

In addition, the 700 was added but looks like they are getting some push back from the FAA on the 900. It probably won’t happen any time soon .

They don’t have any contractual flying for either .

Lastly , they are offering FA’s time off without pay starting in nov .

FOs are leaving in droves , making lateral moves to the WOs.some going thru Aviate . Captains leaving left and right every day.

Looks like one of those situations where you hope for the best but plan for the worst .
I missed this email. When was it sent?
