I wasn't running or hiding from anything. I honestly did not realize that they had attempted to add flying until I was already home and noticed my phone was off and dead. It's 99.99% positive that it is not a requirement for me as a lineholder to check out, and I'm more than eager to get to my car after a trip and I usually don't bother walking back to ops to sign out.
I can always use the money, and the turbine time, so I probably wouldn't have minded, provided it wasn't alot of sitting around and/or a two day extension.
As Cessna stated, you are required to check out...in ops manual as well.
