33 pilots at roughly 4 or 5 per class will take close to 8 to 10 weeks to train them all and get them online. The "new/replacement" planes were coming for a long time (they knew even before we signed the BK contract, months before they were even announced) and they (the company) screwed up by not training enough people soon enough. The 33 may help, but they are trying to make it right after the fact.
8 to 10 weeks for training? That's good. Some regionals try to rush thier new hires through training then question why they have a high failure rate. At least Comair extends it a little more to help thier people through, or does Comair have a high failure rate also? I hope what ever annoucement they make, its' good news for you all.
