I will 100% disagree with you on where you live not being important to how you approach reserve. I utilized the reserve system completely different living in base verses commuting. I also used the reserve system differently committing to ATL which was a 4 hour drive verses commuting to NY which is not drivable. There have also been hundreds of posts on here about how to minimize commuting as a reserve.
it’s not about how you the pilot approaches reserve, but where I am physically located is rather irrelevant *to the company* as long as I’m promptly available
