But I have….
I routinely bid 7-8 blocks of on call days to force a 30/168 issue.
I’ve never seen them post they want a SC pilot with 7(8) days of availability and even in the few times I do YS, I don’t get the SC and scheduling says it’s because I don’t meet their posted days of availability.

lol do you even understand how days of availability works? Of course we don't have 7 or 8 DOA buckets. On a NB any pilot with 4 or more falls into the 4 day bucket and is eligible for a 4 day SC period. In fact, the SC target DOA on the SC open time list is only a minimum. Scheduling could post 20 SC periods all targeting 2 days DOA and they can give those to 2, 3, or 4 DOA pilots. They will start with the pilots matching the required DOA but if there aren't enough they will move up the DOA list to fill every SC period possible, including pilots who have RES blocks of 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, etc days of LC in a row.
My point was for whatever reason, Scheds isn’t asking for 5+ day SC, but lots of 3 and 4 days and there are plenty of pilots in the 3 and 4 day buckets so they aren’t tagging me with 5+ with a 3 or 4 day SC on day 1

yes I understand how it works…typing while walking…was trying to be concise…should have used voice text so I could be more wordy.
