They could be smiling and nodding and it seems like both sides are having a nice back and forth conversation, but in reality they are destroying you on their clip board as they jot down notes and irregularities. That seems rather unfair. I'd hem and haw if you asked me my favorite non-alcoholic drink, but if you asked me my favorite alcoholic drink, I'd spit it out like that. No one wants to be the guy standing at the bar being a dope when it's 5 people deep. You know what you like. It's instinct!
