at the moment they aren’t that good. AA doesn’t have much long range flying so the 4 pilot trips go extremely senior. With less than 20 years seniority you will likely get 21 hour 4 day trips. Meaning about 14 days off per month. If your friend wants the classic “widebody lifestyle” of 18-20 days off per month they are better off going to United which has a lot more 4 Pilot trips. Or he/she could eventually get their at AAL after a very long wait. The FOs flying the best trips on the 787 at American can often hold Captain on the 787.
