But generally with smart yellow-slipping strategy you should be able to avoid that if you want to. Plus, how many 30 hour layovers do we even have any more domestically? I see way more trips with 10-11-10 than anything with 30...
No worries, in the last 3 years I have never not been rerouted out of a 30+ hour layover. As a reserve I have only been assigned 2 in that time. As a line holder, I bid 1 five day intentionally to see family but that got "fixed" on day one, flight one during cruise inbound to ATL. Five day domestic of course. Living in base it buys you 3ish extra "off" days.
