Years on property is a skewed way to view seniority because hiring rates fluctuate so much over time. There are spots on the seniority list where a couple hundred numbers can represent a years long disparity in hire dates, whereas at the current bottom end of the seniority list it represents only a couple of weeks.

6,000 is a long time pre-merger, so the hire date would depend on which legacy carrier the person started at. Someone in that seniority band can certainly come up with the longevity numbers, but it probably paints a much more accurate picture to think of it as around 45% seniority.
