If you're on reserve then yes, you're required to respond to company notification. My point is that they expect to easily make contact with us when they need us, but when we legitimately need help, they're nowhere to be found.
Why are you guys or anyone else sitting on hold for that long, especially for a self dhd. Send it on the ipad and go! I swear our pilot group gets dumber by the day.
I'm not sitting around biting my nails hoping they pickup. I have the phone call going in the background and then usually screen shot and send it to the union. Anything that can be used against them is helpful. When I was waiting on my self request, I was actively boarding the flight while on hold. I did my part, they failed to do theirs. I'm not losing sleep over them not picking up, but it's completely unacceptable.
Other times though, we've sat on hold for over and hour because we had active pairing disruption issues and needed answers, and were unable to get them until actually getting in touch with someone.
