But the sky isn’t falling. And last I checked southwest has slow upgrades and no wide bodies. They stay and recruit successfuly because it’s a good job that pays fat. Make both of those true here, no reason to think this can’t be a career airline either . It is for me .
Southwest is only able to run about 3/4s of their schedule and are desperately short on staffing. They’re also, much to their amazement, finding that a ton of people are not into 10 year upgrades and flying the guppy the rest of their life, and are having serious attrition problems of their own. You can make good money there if you want to put in the work, but it is not anything close to Herb’s wunderkompany anymore. You haven’t been paying attention if you think they’re not up a different branch of the same creek as us.

Kindly shove the “wanna leave then leave tripe” in your preferred receptacle. I haven’t been here as long as I have, nor have many others, just waiting on the legacies to hire any warm body that applies. I also don’t have my head in the sand with regard to what is unfolding. The OP suggested we’d just park all those gas guzzling CEOs perhaps not realizing that he just volunteered to park half the Spirit fleet. It was poor reasoning.
