What I actually posted was that they had a lot of long term debt that was going to have to be refinanced at higher rates and that this was going to give them real headwinds in post COVID recovery. And that was and is true. Their last financials show a debt service (interest expense) for 2023 of $2.145 billion, up from $1.962 Billion in 2022, and up from under $1 billion back when I made the statement.

Fortunately for them (and us all) demand for flying recovered much quicker than most people predicted, so they are able to pay the increasing debt service and even starting to pay it down a little causing Moody's to elevate their senior secured notes back above the junk bond ratings previously held.

nor have I bad mouthed NK. The P&W engine problem was not predictable, nor was the fact that the judge ignored the increasing competition by the Big Three in making his decision. It would be foolish to pretend that those two factors don't affect career progression (at a minimum) and attrition (the thread subject after all) at NK and even threaten the longer term prospects of the company.
