If Skywest bought us (Which I believe is a very very real possibility), the first thing that would go would be branded, along with that would be a few hundred pilots. I would hate to see us slowly ripped apart. If I am going to be out of a job I would rather it happen sooner, rather then later, make sense?
I highly doubt SKW would furlough pilots. They take pride in the fact that they've never furloughed and when you look at ASA and the fact that their flying has decreased with the closure to two domiciles without a single pilot being furloughed all while keeping reserve times low and upgrades less than 3 years. They would just trim the fat and I don’t think branded would be the fat they’d be looking at, they always wanted to do it and you guys have it (in their backyard to boot). Besides XJT has a good plan, it’s just that fuel prices are ridiculous and start up cost kill the bottom line.
