What they keep telling us is that the 88's, while I will be the first to say are not my favorite, are VERY cheap to lease. I think that if we get together those NW -9's are going to used agressively to knock down some RJ flying and cut DCI costs.
I agree. I heard that we could buy 3 MD-90s for the price of one 76 seat RJ. I think in a merged airline the route guys would like to keep more of the NW DC-9s around than currently planned.
