I am referencing guys that just bid the ANC FO spots. Since they do not have a seat lock can't they displace a CA in any seat their seniority will hold? Maybe I am just too confused on this whole thing and should just get back to studying

The new -400 FOs are seat-locked for two years for transitioning to another FO seat. They can upgrade to Capt at anytime when there is a vacancy (original or recurring), but they cannot arbitrarily displace a Capt from their seat.
